Deborah Van der Beek

British author, artist and sculptor. Born in London  to a French mother and English father. She is perhaps best known for her sculpture which features horses, riders and mythical figures. However she has written and illustrated a few children's books, including one traditional type pony story about a girl trying to save a neglected horse. As a child she was interested to equal degrees in both ponies and history: interests which are now reflected in her fiction and art.

She has her own website, although it is devoted to her sculpture rather than her writing. There is a short but interesting section on the importance of horse worship to the ancient British people and her horse sculpture and art, and it is certainly worth a look.
